Always God's Children

Boundless Love in Christ; for all.

Always God’s Children is a resource and networking ministry for Catholic families with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) members.

Our goal is to follow the Lord Jesus’ model of  boundless love of each person, without exception.   Jesus’ example of seeking out the people on the margins of society by listening to them, teaching them, and welcoming them into community inspires our efforts.

We look to help build the Kingdom of God by reassuring those who feel rejected that we —all of us — are always God’s children.

We are Catholics in the Diocese of Greensburg who have experience with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) friends or family members.

Together we accompany and support LGBTQ  persons and their families by promoting a safe environment for dialogue and pastoral care.

We seek to assure each person that God and the Catholic Church love them and see them as essential members of Christ’s Body, the Church.

Our discussions are rooted in the teaching of the Catholic Church and reference the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’  Pastoral Message of Always Our Children.

“We would like before all else to reaffirm that every person, regardless of sexual orientation, ought to be respected in his or her dignity and treated with consideration while ‘every sign of unjust discrimination’  is to be carefully avoided, particularly any form of aggression and violence (No. 250)."
Amoris Laetitia, “the Joy of Love”
Pope Francis
"The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible...They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
Catechism of the Catholic Church #2358

Where Beauty Ruled

Vincent de Paul Crosby, O.S.B., a monk in love with beauty. Not the facile, belles-lettristic “beauty” of John Keats (“Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all/ Ye know on earth and all ye need to know”) but a useful beauty, a beauty of utility. As an artist, he saw the potential and purpose of beauty in all things—whether he was designing altar linens, leading the renovation of his archabbey’s basilica or founding an AIDS residence for homeless men. His is the type of beauty found in The Rule of Saint Benedict.

Lead with Love

“What do I do if my child is gay?” Lead with Love is a 35-minute documentary created to help answer that question. Our goal is to provide comfort, information, and guidance for parents who have recently learned that their son or daughter is lesbian, gay, or bisexual.
